Stories of the Land and Its People - Exhibition 2016

During the 2015-2016 school year, 4th and 7th grade Mid-coast Maine students explored color, nutrient cycles, poetry, agriculture, town history, watersheds, crafters and more in their yearlong arts-integrated Stories projects. Through the medium of photography, students went out into their community to visually tell their story.  Each class participated in studio sessions with a professional artist, practiced deep noticing in the museum galleries, were visited by museum educators in the classroom, and developed curricular connections to their projects.  This slideshow represents some of this yearlong work. Program and exhibition designed by Arts in Education Program Manager, Andrea L. Curtis. Installation support by Jared Cowan, Matthew Smolinksy, Robert Coburn, Andrew White, Scott Sell, Margaret Rizzio and Director of Education Roger Dell.
